Co-hosted by Vietnam’s Central Economic Commission and Ministry of Construction, ASEAN Smart Cities Summit & Expo 2020 had successfully taken place on October 22-23, 2020 at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, Vietnam with the participation of more than 1500 delegates, 40 speakers, 35 sponsors and exhibitors.
The strong urbanization process has posed many great socio-economic challenges for the municipalities in Vietnam as well as in the world. In response to increasing pressures on IT infrastructure, transportation, environment, urban security, the smart city planning and development based on IT platform are seen as the key to solving this problem.
With the aim of solving difficulties and problems as well as promoting the knowledge-sharing between the smart cities within and outside the ASEAN region, enhancing cooperation and investment between localities, domestic and international enterprises, the ASEAN Smart Cities Summit & Expo 2020 had successfully taken place on October 22-23, 2020 at the National Convention Center, Hanoi with the co-hosted of Vietnam’s Central Economic Commission and Ministry of Construction.
Regarded as one of the largest and most influential smart city events in the region, ASEAN Smart Cities Summit & Expo 2020 features 01 High-level forum, 05 Conference Sessions and an International Exposition. The event attracted more than 1,500 delegates who are leaders of central and local government, ministries, departments, international delegates representing ASEAN, domestic and international associations and enterprises.
With the participation of more than 40 seasoned experts in the region, the High-level Forum and Conference Sessions opened up an ideal platform for city leaders to gain knowledge, share practices and promote deeper international cooperation in smart city projects implementation. In particular, the High-level Forum focused on discussing smart city sustainable development in the period of 2018-2025 and vision to 2030; developing smart cities associated with building digital government and smart city development trends within the ASEAN region. 05 Conference Sessions shed light on pressing issues of modern cities, including Planning & Management, Infrastructure & Technology, Services & Utilities, Smart Energy and Smart Transportation.
In addition, the International Exposition offered visitors a unique opportunity to take a closer look at smart city projects being deployed across ASEAN and experience cutting-edge technologies showcased by over 30 world-class tech giants in the region, including VNPT, Viettel, Vinsmart, VietinBank, FPT, etc.
